Zillow’s Data Management team supports the most critical datasets in Zillow, powering key initiatives. The team works with near real-time and batch data products to provide high-quality datasets for analytics.

About the role

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in the Zillow Group Data Management team, you will play a central role in powering analytical and ML teams by providing validated high-quality property datasets that serve as a single source of truth across the organization. Your responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing, and owning mission-critical ETL pipelines
• Contributing to the architecture and development of near real-time and batch data products
• Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, data scientists, and ML engineers to productionalize analytic solutions
• Enabling product engineering teams to onboard their data using data mesh principles and architecture

This role is categorized as a teleworker position, allowing you to work from a location of your choice in Mexico, with occasional travel to Mexico City for office events. The position offers a competitive salary, benefits, and potential bonuses based on experience, performance, and location.

Who you are

• Experienced in designing and building complex, scalable, reliable data pipelines using the Big Data ecosystem (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Presto, Airflow, Kinesis, or equivalents)
• 5+ years of software development experience with proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, or other languages
• Knowledge of SQL
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Experience working with customers to understand and capture requirements
• Knowledge of distributed databases and streaming/batch processing systems
• Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and spoken)
• Authorized to work in Mexico
