Job summary

Envestnet’s Tamarac team is seeking a senior software engineer to help scale a leading trading and portfolio management platform used by RIAs. You will design and implement scalable features, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product managers and data scientists across cloud-native services.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in .NET, C#, RESTful APIs, and relational/NoSQL design.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Redis.
  • Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudWatch.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes; CI/CD and observability practices.
  • Experience mentoring P1–P2 engineers and contributing to team standards.
  • Exposure to AI/ML systems or data pipelines is a plus.

How You'll Contribute

Responsible for building scalable, secure platforms in support of Envestnet business operations, including wealth management, financial data aggregation and advisor-driven technology solutions. Works across cloud-based architectures, integrating complex data sources and APIs to deliver reliable, high-performance systems. Collaborates with product managers, data scientists and compliance stakeholders to meet both business and regulatory requirements.

  • Designs, develops, and maintains complex features or system components.
  • Leads technical design for small-to-medium features or services.
  • Identifies root causes of issues and implement robust, scalable fixes.
  • Optimizes code for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Mentors junior engineers (P1–P2) and provide technical guidance.
  • Drives improvements in coding standards, testing practices, and CI/CD processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and clarify technical constraints
  • Troubleshoots production issues and lead resolution efforts.
  • Balances multiple priorities across projects with minimal supervision.
  • Implements and improves basic observability (logging, monitoring, alerting) for owned services.
  • Supports production troubleshooting in collaboration with DevOps/SRE teams.
  • Partners with DevOps/SRE to improve system reliability, deployment automation, and observability.
  • Designs and maintains CI/CD pipelines for owned services, improving deployment speed and safety.
  • Implements infrastructure-aware design decisions (scalability, failover, resiliency, cost).
  • Leverages agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to increase personal productivity across development, testing, and code review phases of the SDLC.
What You'll Need to Bring
  • Candidates should demonstrate the relevant experience, skills, and capabilities needed to successfully perform in the role. Relevant experience may be gained through current responsibilities, prior roles, project work, leadership opportunities, or other comparable experiences.
  • Strong proficiency in .NET, C#, RESTful APIs, and relational/NoSQL database design.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Redis.
  • Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudWatch.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability practices, agile/Scrum delivery, test-driven development, and code quality standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues independently and lead resolution efforts within owned services.
  • Experience mentoring P1–P2 engineers and contributing to team technical standards.
  • Exposure to AI/ML systems, LLM-based applications, or data pipeline work preferred.
  • Hands-on experience using agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot to accelerate development, testing, and code review.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field required; master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of complex features or system components in production environments.
  • Experience in fintech, reporting, or regulated production environments preferred

Our Investment in You

This role offers a base salary range of$129,500 to $157,400. The range listed represents a good-faith estimate of base salary compensation for this position and does not include incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Individual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.

This role is eligible for an additional incentive component as part of the total rewards package.
