Senior Software Development Engineer

This position is for a Senior Software Engineer in the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) team within Platform Security. The team develops critical security services for the Splunk Platform, supporting both cloud and on-premise customers. PKI is vital for maintaining customer data security, and the team must uphold the highest security standards.

Responsibilities

1. Design, implement, test, and deploy security software services for Splunk Cloud and on-premise environments.
2. Collaborate with product management and QA to define features and deliver security solutions.
3. Mentor team members, ensuring adherence to best practices in software development and quality.
4. Lead design and code reviews, participate in architecture discussions, and estimate deliverables across multiple sprints.
5. Contribute to product innovation through prototyping and identifying engineering improvements.
6. Engage with customers for escalations and resolutions.
7. Mentor and cross-train team members to enhance security engineering expertise.

Requirements

• Security-first mindset to protect customer data and infrastructure.
• Experience developing scalable, high-performance identity and security services.
• Proficiency in C/C++, systems-level development on Linux is highly desired.
• Experience with cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure, TLS, openssl is a plus.
• Experience with secrets management systems like AWS KMS and Vault is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, ECS, Kubernetes.
• Ability to work with multiple programming languages such as C++, Java, and Go, with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming and quick learning skills.
