Job summary

Circle Graphics + Sensaria in Morrisville, NC seeks a Senior Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain order management systems. You will work in an Agile environment with PHP/MySQL at the core, interfacing with internal APIs and various AWS services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university plus at least three years of related experience; or equivalent combination.
• Strong PHP 8.x development skills in an MVC framework (Laminas/Zend, Laravel, or Symfony).
• Experience with unit/integration testing ( PHPUnit, Pest, Cypress, Playwright ).
• Familiarity with AWS services (SQS, EventBridge) and Docker/CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS), ECS, Lambda, Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and fix bugs in order management systems in an Agile setup.
• Collaborate across teams and interface with internal APIs and systems.
• Write well-tested, containerized code and participate in weekly sprints.
• Support day-to-day operations of applications and systems.

Job Description Overview:

As a Senior Software Developer, you will work in our agile development environment and add new features, enhance current functionality, and fix bugs in our order management systems. Our systems and services are comprised of several different technologies, but this position will center around PHP/MySQL.This role will also interact with other organizations and teams within Sensaria / Circle Graphics and will have the opportunity to interface with other internal APIs and systems.

This role is not eligible for work sponsorship at this time.

This role will be based in our Morrisville, NC HQ location.(we are open to remote candidates in the Eastern & Central time zones)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Software Development

• Work in an Agile environment to collaborate, analyze, design, develop, deploy, and support applications to meet business and technical needs and requirements.
• Write well-designed, testable code with containerized deployments and continuous integration testing approaches.
• Help break down, estimate, and provide just-in-time design for small increments of work.
• Provide direction and share knowledge with team members.
• Participate in weekly sprint cycles
• Keep stakeholders informed of your progress using the issue management system.

Systems Support

• Work with the e-commerce team to support and enhance the day-to-day operations of the applications and systems you will be working on.
• Collaborate with end-users to find innovative solutions to problems.
• Resolve critical production downtime issues.

EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University plus at least three years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

Technical skills requirements:

• PHP (8.x)
• An MVC framework such as Laminas/Zend, Laravel, or Symfony
• Familiarity with test-driven development; Unit and Integration Testing using PHPUnit/Pest/Cypress/Playwright
• Experience with software debuggers like XDebug
• Experience using AWS SQS, Eventbridge, and other distributed work queue systems
• Experience developing solutions in a cloud environment (AWS preferred), including ECS, Lambda, and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform
• Experience with Docker/containerization and CI/CD pipelines (Buildkite or similar) for automated builds and deployments
• Familiarity with Git
• RDBMS experience with query optimization with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL
• Familiarity with Monday/Linear for task management
• Experience working with distributed services and microservices
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks (Vue, TypeScript) for customer-facing experiences is a plus
• Comfortable with AI assisted development (Claude Code/Codex)
