Job summary

PACCAR is seeking a Senior Software Developer to contribute to the development, enhancement, and support of critical Mainframe applications across North America. You will work with COBOL, IMS, DB2, CICS, and JCL to enable key Materials and Finance processes, ensuring reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience including development, scripting and data mapping.
• 5+ years of mainframe experience with COBOL, IMS DB, DB2, CICS and JCL.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and propose technical solutions.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and support mainframe applications and system enhancements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring reliability and performance.
• Provide application and system administration support for critical business systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver business value.
• Participate in code reviews, technical analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support production deployments and participate in an on-call rotation, including evenings/weekends as needed.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including application development, scripting, workflow design, and data mapping.
• 5+ years of mainframe experience with COBOL, IMS DB, DB2, CICS and JCLStrong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, databases, and spreadsheets.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field desired.
