Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join the Cloud Engineering team. You will design and implement scalable distributed services for Mist's cloud-based network configuration and reporting platform, owning end-to-end cloud services and data components.

You will work on real-time data pipelines, ML-driven workflows, and elastic search use cases, contributing to AI-driven enterprise networking at scale in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Typically 6 - 10 years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
• 2+ years of experience building event-driven stream processing systems using Kafka, Storm, Flink, or similar technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant distributed services running in the cloud.
• Develop microservices and backend components using Python and Go, with Java for event-driven processing.
• Build and evolve real-time and batch data processing pipelines for AIDE, including event streams and ML-driven workflows.
• Write high-quality unit, integration, and functional tests to enable safe refactoring and CD.

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Software Developer to join our Cloud Engineering team and help build the next generation of Mist's cloud ‑ based network configuration and reporting platform. In this role, you will design and implement highly scalable distributed systems, own key cloud services end ‑ to ‑ end, contribute to the platform that powers AI ‑driven enterprise networking at massive scale, and serve as the data SME for the team and organization by owning the software engineering side of database and Elasticsearch, and leading technical discovery, monitoring and troubleshooting for elastic search use cases.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, fault ‑ tolerant distributed services running in the cloud.
• Develop microservices and backend components using Python and Go, with additional development in Java for event ‑ driven stream processing systems.
• Build and evolve real ‑ time and batch data processing pipelines for AIDE, including event streams, ingestion pipelines, and ML ‑ driven workflows.
• Write high ‑ quality unit, integration, and functional tests that enable safe refactoring and continuous delivery.

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Typically 6 - 10 years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
• 2+ years of experience building event ‑ driven stream processing systems using Kafka, Storm, Flink, or similar technologies.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Experience working with distributed datastores such as Redis, Cassandra, or Postgres.
• 4+ years working with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
• 3+ years working with big ‑ data frameworks such as Apache Spark or Databricks.
• 3+ years building or operating distributed systems using cloud ‑ native technologies or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, automation, and service ownership.
• Experience with ETL pipelines, ML training and inference, or data tooling such as Pandas/DuckDB.
• Familiarity with AI and AI Agentic frameworks and tools such as LangChain, GitHub CoPilot, MCP, Agent Orchestration Frameworks.
• Good understanding of Linux and systems fundamental.
• Strong analytical and problem ‑ solving skills.
• Excellent communication and cross ‑ functional collaboration skills.
