Job summary

Cogent People Inc. is seeking a Sr Software Developer proficient in a variety of programming languages (Java, Python, Scala), software design and architecture, cloud architectures, and large-scale systems.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable software solutions, ensuring high performance, collaborating across teams, and providing production support in a hybrid/remote setting in Columbia, MD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software development using Java, Python, and Scala.
• 3+ years designing software for infrastructure and code.
• Proven experience with AWS architectures and cloud services.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and toolchains.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
• Ability to deliver high-quality, scalable, and performant systems.
