Job summary

United Airlines is seeking a Senior Software Developer to modernize the schedule development process within Network Planning. You will deliver end-to-end cloud-based solutions and enhance existing applications, leveraging enterprise-grade integration technologies and scalable architectures.

The role requires strong Python/Java/C++ skills, AWS experience, and a broad Full-Stack background. Collaboration with business users and tech teams is essential, with a focus on innovation and robust

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related field
• 5–7+ years of experience designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging large-scale distributed applications using Python, Java, or C++, with strong SQL skills
• Hands-on experience implementing AWS technologies (Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch, CloudFront, Route 53, ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, API Gateway, Secrets Manager)
• Full-Stack development experience, including UI development, APIs, JSON, and XML
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Harness and Artifactory Cloud
• Strong understanding of OO design and best practices
• Legal work authorization in the United States
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Full lifecycle development: manage all phases of the software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies
• Technical leadership: act as a technical expert on development projects and collaborate with internal teams and vendors
• Solution design & architecture: lead software design discussions, define requirements, and create specifications
• Application support and maintenance: analyze code, fix issues, and document functionality
• Collaboration & prototyping: work with business users to prototype and refine solutions
• Innovation: evaluate emerging technologies to improve system results
