Job description

Why This Role Is Strategic to CLS

CLS is making real strides using AI coding platforms to run leaner teams while raising the bar on productivity, efficiency, and delivery. Our engineering team has adopted agent-mode development across the board – from user stories and bug triage to full feature builds – and we are launching our first AI-native capabilities inside CLSLiNK. The person in this role is central to that momentum: a high-impact contributor who accelerates delivery and raises quality, helps the team get better with our AI tools, and extends that same automation mindset into the wider business. It is a critical, strategic role tied directly to where CLS is headed next.

AI-Native Ways of Working
  • AI is a core part of how you build. In this role, you will:
  • Manage multiple coding agents at once – plan, delegate, and supervise several concurrent tasks or features across agentic platforms like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex, staying accountable for reviewing and directing the agents' work to keep parallel efforts on track.
  • Work across several features or projects at the same time – using agent-assisted workflows to sustain a high pace without cutting corners on quality.
  • Break problems down for AI – turn work into clear, well-scoped tasks that agents can execute reliably, and know when something needs a human instead.
  • Review and verify AI-generated code – own the correctness, security, performance, and maintainability of everything that ships, and catch the mistakes AI tends to introduce.
  • Elevate the team's practices – share prompts, patterns, and guidance so the whole team gets faster and more consistent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Design and develop enterprise web applications, data integration, and reporting solutions using Angular, ASP.NET, and TSQL.
  • Drive delivery with agentic AI coding tools, managing concurrent agent workstreams and turning them into production‑ready, high‑quality software.
  • Deliver efficiently and predictably, balancing speed with code quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Work through the full software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and delivery.
Quality & Craftsmanship
  • Apply a critical eye to your own work and your team's, ensuring solutions are high quality and built to last.
  • Use Git and Azure DevOps for source control, collaboration, and application delivery.
  • Follow secure coding practices and identify and address common security vulnerabilities.
  • Use AI tools responsibly and in accordance with CLS's Generative AI Usage Policy and data‑security standards – including using only company‑approved tools and never exposing proprietary or client data to unauthorized platforms.
  • Document technical designs and solutions for the team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and product managers to solve problems, spot trends, and explore opportunities, including where AI agents can automate manual work.
  • Clearly articulate complex ideas to internal teams, and help teammates get more out of our AI tools.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture through leadership, a team‑oriented approach, and openness to learning and feedback.
  • Manage your time effectively and stay current on new development, testing, and AI practices.
Qualification Requirements (minimum and preferred requirements)
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience (or equivalent demonstrated experience), with a track record of shipping production software on a senior team.
  • 3+ years of web application development using ASP.NET (C#, Web APIs, Entity Framework, MVC/Razor/Web pages), or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • 3+ years of front‑end development using the Angular framework, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • 2+ years of TSQL experience designing database solutions for web applications, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • 3+ years building, deploying, and managing application delivery using Azure DevOps and Git, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Must be local to Sugar Land, TX.
  • Hands‑on experience building real software with agentic AI coding platforms such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
  • Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills, and expertise in best practices for developing web applications and relational databases.
  • Strong soft skills, including adaptability, effective communication, and comfort managing multiple priorities and delivering to deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MIS, or equivalent experience.
What “Experienced with Agentic AI” Means for This Role
  • To set expectations clearly, this is what we are looking for:You have shipped real features with AI coding agents – not just tried them – and can speak to what they do well and where they fall short.
  • You are comfortable running several agents in parallel and pulling their output together into one coherent, tested result.
  • You treat AI output as a first draft to be verified, and you take ownership of the final quality, security, and correctness.
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience building AI features into products, such as chat assistants, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), or LLM integrations (e.g., Azure OpenAI).
  • Experience helping a business identify and automate tasks using AI agents.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL or similar technologies for flexible API development and consumption.
  • Experience with cloud‑native development on Microsoft Azure.
