Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Developer-SME for a 200+ FTE program supporting the Sponsor’s Web-based applications. The role will be part of a large team of developers, DevOPS, security engineers, and data engineers, with a backend emphasis on web services.

The candidate must have 6-10 years of demonstrable dev experience with a backend focus and, after onboarding, will participate in a one-week on-call rotation addressing post-hours issues. Core hours are 9 AM to 3 PM, five days a week.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of demonstrable developer experience with a backend emphasis.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
• BS degree and 8+ years experience. Additional experience in lieu of degree
• Strong Java programming skills and Java persistence API experience for complex database schemas.
• Java web services experience (JAX/WS).
• Strong understanding of Linux (CLI).
• Experience in Agile workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and web services for sponsor’s web-based applications.
• Collaborate with a large team of developers, DevOps, security, systems, and data engineers.
• Be prepared for an on-call one-week duty rotation after onboarding and address system issues after hours.
• Follow core hours of 9 AM–3 PM, 40-hour work week.
• Operate in an environment that emphasizes backend focus within a full-stack role.

Job description

Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Developer-SME for a 200+ FTE technical development program supporting the Sponsor’s Web-based applications. The Software Developer will work with a large team of developers, DevOPS engineers, security engineers, systems engineers, and data engineers. The developer will be full stack knowledgeable, but will likely be focused on technical backend work (e.g., web services).

The candidate must have 6-10 years of demonstrable developer experience with a backend emphasis. Additionally, after a one-year onboarding period, the candidate will be required to be included in an on-call, one week duty rotation that will require them to address any system issues that occur after normal working hours.

Core hours are from 9 AM to 3 PM daily, five days per week, with a forty-hour work week.

Required Quals

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
• BS degree and 8+ years experience. Additional experience in lieu of degree
• Strong Java programming skills / Java persistence API experience for complex database schemas
• Java web services experience (JAX/WS)
• Strong understanding, knowledge of Linux (CLI)
• Experience in working on teams utilizing Agile workflows and processes
• Working knowledge of the Spring frameworks/Boot

Desired Quals

• Experience with development in Cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS), Java integration with AWS services
• Databases: Oracle, Oracle RDS
• Frameworks: Vue.js, Bootstrap/Vuetify

Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
