Job summary

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related discipline and 10+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with software version control, builds, and releases.
• Experience supporting developers with configuration management tools (check in/out, branching, tagging).
• Experience creating software build scripts using Bash, Perl, or Shell.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and SCM support across phases.
• Knowledge of CM concepts and government regulations.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and maintain SCM processes, standards, and procedures across multiple projects.
• Establish and manage software baselines, including version control, branching, merging, and release strategies.
• Support and enforce change control processes (CRs, CCBs, audits).
• Ensure traceability between requirements, design, code, and test artifacts.
• Develop and maintain SCM documentation, plans, and guidelines.
• Identify opportunities to improve SCM processes and tools; lead automation initiatives.
• Participate in configuration management reviews with management and customers.
• Mentor junior SCM and software engineering staff on SCM best practices.
