Job summary

The Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC), a Mercer University research institute, seeks a Chief Engineer, Software to lead the execution of software efforts across design, development, prototyping, production and operation. You will mentor technical leads and contract personnel under the supervision of the technical director.

Requirements include US Citizenship, ability to obtain DoD clearance, ABET-accredited degree with 13+ years of related experience (or master’s with 12+; PhD with 10+),

Qualifications

• Led technical teams from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree required; software/CS focus.
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee execution of all contractual software efforts across design, development, prototyping, production and operation.
• Mentor technical leads and contract personnel under supervision of the technical director.
• Draft clear reports on resources, costs, and contract performance.
• Collaborate with engineers, service technicians, business development, operations, and clients.
