Job summary

Teradyne’s Memory Test division seeks a Calibration and Diagnostics Engineer to join our team in San Jose, CA (also Agoura Hills, CA or Tualatin, OR). You will develop calibration software for advanced instrumentation and work across hardware/software domains.

The role requires 8+ years of engineering experience, a BS/MS in EE/CE/CS, and deep expertise in calibration methodologies, data analysis, and hardware collaboration. Relocation is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of calibration methodologies, instrumentation, and measurement science.
• Ability to analyze complex hardware/software interactions.
• Experience working directly with hardware development teams.
• Strong knowledge of debugging methodologies and data analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of calibration and diagnostic software architectures.
• Develop advanced calibration algorithms for precision measurement and instrumentation subsystems.
• Drive characterization strategies for new hardware platforms and technologies.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, systems, manufacturing, and product engineering organizations.
• Analyze large measurement datasets to identify trends, performance limitations, and optimization opportunities.
• Root-cause investigations involving complex software and hardware interactions.
• Develop scalable software frameworks supporting engineering, manufacturing, and customer diagnostics.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on critical projects.
• Drive software quality, automation, and development best practices.
• Influence product roadmap decisions through technical expertise and data-driven recommendations.
