Job summary

The Sr Engineer, Software Automation, designs, builds, and maintains scalable Python-based test automation frameworks for instrument and system-level testing in Irvine, CA, on-site.

Qualifications

• BSCS or related field with 5+ years of software engineering or test automation.
• Strong Python development skills including OOP and reusable components.
• Experience designing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
• Experience with software, hardware, embedded devices, and interfaces.
• Git, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for instrument/system testing.
• Build reusable test libraries, device interfaces, and utilities across platforms.
• Create simulators/emulators for hardware devices to enable isolated testing.
• Mentor engineers and drive best practices for architecture and code quality.
• Lead code/design reviews and provide technical leadership for automation initiatives.
