Truist seeks a Lead Engineer who owns complex platforms end-to-end, combining architecture and hands-on engineering with strong technical judgment. You will drive engineering standards, resilience, and scalability while guiding multiple teams through design reviews and code quality initiatives.

This role partners with senior technology leadership to shape technology strategy, deliver scalable software solutions, and coach engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/SE or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software development.
Deep knowledge of multiple programming languages, software architecture, and design principles.
Deep understanding of SDLC, testing, deployment, and security practices.

Responsibilities

Implements software architecture and engineering approaches for complex, high impact initiatives.
Promotes advanced software engineering standards and governance within the domain.
Shapes technology strategy with senior technology leadership and architecture teams.
Leads end-to-end design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available software solutions.
Resolves complex technical issues, improving architecture, performance, reliability, and scalability.
Provides technical leadership, coaching, and training across teams.
Evaluates emerging technologies and builds prototypes to inform product direction.
Leads large, complex projects coordinating work across teams for quality outcomes.
