Applied Information Sciences (AIS) is seeking a Senior Software Architect to lead architectural design of scalable, secure software systems for clients across regulated industries. This role blends hands-on coding leadership with strategic guidance, leveraging Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud to deliver cloud-native solutions.
Based in Reston, VA, the position allows remote work within the United States and involves travel on the East Coast.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in CS/CIS or related field with 2+ years of senior software development experience.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale distributed systems and scalable architectures.
- Proficient with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and CI/CD via Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions.
Responsibilities
- Define architectural framework and design standards for cross-functional teams.
- Oversee complex solution development and guide teams; mentor developers.
- Create and manage unit and automated tests; ensure coverage and stability.
- Conduct code reviews and promote best practices; collaborate with DevOps.
- Travel up to 10% on the East Coast.
