Job summary

Stellantis NV is seeking a Propulsion System Senior Software Architect in Auburn Hills, MI to define reusable software architecture for engine, transmission and electrification programs. You will implement RTE configurations, manage SW variants and optimize multi-core mappings for efficient ECU use.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in embedded C/C++ with AUTOSAR, and strong MISRA-C knowledge, plus experience with Vector MICROSAR/ETAS tools. This role reports to the propulsion software team.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• At least 8 years embedded C/C++ in automotive AUTOSAR environments.
• Experience configuring modules like RTE/OS/COM/MCAL/NVM and MISRA-C.
• Hands-on with AUTOSAR authoring tools and multi-core systems.
• Strong communication and adaptability in fast-changing settings.

Responsibilities

• Define reusable, hardware independent software architecture for engine, transmission and electrification programs.
• Implement RTE configurations, generate RTE files and manage software variants.
• Map multi-core runnable and partition SW components for ECU resources.
• Develop propulsion software architecture and guide BSW/APP development standards.

Job description

The Propulsion System Senior Software Architect is responsible for defining re-usable, Hardware Independent Application Software Architecture with standard interfaces for Engine, Transmission and Electrification Programs and will be responsible for participating in a team of engineers responsible for the development of software for EE/core and powertrain control modules. The Engineer will Implement RTE configurations and generate RTE files and Develop SW Variant management strategy for engine, transmission, electrification, and Hybrid projects per AUTOSAR Architecture. The Engineer will be responsible for multi-core runnable mapping and SW Component partitioning for efficient Embedded controller resources utilization and SWC allocation per Functional Safety rating. The Engineer will develop Software Architecture for Propulsion System functions/features and establish Software Architecture Guidelines for Application and BSW layer SW development

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering or related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in embedded C/C++ in Vector/ ETAS/AUTOSAR
• Basic Software configuration of modules like RTE, OS, COM, MCAL, IOHWAB, NVM, WDG, DCM, DEM etc.
• Experience with SW component ARXML files using standard AUTOSAR Authoring tools (dSPACE SystemDesk, ETAS iSolar, Vector Davinci Developer etc.)
• Experience with Multicore microprocessors and Multi-core OS
• Experience with Compilers, Emulators, (Lauterbach) Debuggers, and automation scripting
• Experience in software verification / validation including white box, black box and gray box Validation.
• Familiarity with automotive software code quality standards like MISRA-C
• Ability to adapt to changing environment with minimal effect on productivity.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering from an accredited university
• 10 years of automotive industry experience Knowledge and experience with serial data communication protocols (i.e., CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
• Experience with Electrobit TRESOS Studio, Vector MICROSAR and ETAS iSolar Tools
• Experience using data acquisition tools like ETAS INCA, CANoe, CANAnlayzer
• Strong understanding of internal combustion engines, hybrid, battery electric and/or vehicle subsystems
