T Wright Corp. in Frederick, MD seeks a Sr. Software Development Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority, defining architecture and strategy for scalable, secure software across major programs.

You will mentor engineers, drive standards, and align software direction with business goals. Responsibilities include leading platform planning, guiding development, and ensuring delivery of high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• 8–12 years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibility across large programs or enterprise platforms.
• Recognized expert in software architecture, systems integration, design patterns, and large-scale development.
• Proven ability to resolve complex technical challenges across distributed systems and multi-layered environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management, including executive-level interactions.
• Experience defining software strategy, standards, roadmaps, and organizational improvements.
• Familiarity with regulatory, cybersecurity, or compliance standards for software-intensive systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-level software architecture, design strategy, and long-term platform planning.
• Direct development, integration, testing, and optimization of advanced software solutions.
• Identify and resolve system-wide software risks and drive modernization and tooling improvements.
• Oversee cross-functional collaboration with hardware, systems, and product teams to translate objectives into roadmaps.
• Mentor senior technical staff and engage with customers and regulatory processes.
