Labcorp in Durham/Burlington NC is seeking a Senior Software Application Architect to lead cross-functional teams in building secure, high-performance services for healthcare clients. You will shape technology strategy, drive cloud and container-based solutions, and mentor engineers while delivering complex, long-term projects across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of architecture/technical leadership with hands-on implementation.
• 5+ years in Java SE/EE and Spring (Boot/MVC) experience.
• 3+ years developing RESTful web services with Spring.
• 6+ years using version control systems (Git).
• 3+ years with Maven/Gradle build tools.
• 3+ years with unit testing (JUnit/Mockito).
• 6+ years SQL development and database management.
• 3+ years with Azure or AWS services.

Responsibilities

• Contribute technical thought leadership in agile teams and integration work across devices and apps.
• Drive software evolution to meet internal/external client needs today and tomorrow.
• Use modern frameworks for container, cloud, and serverless Java/Linux solutions.
• Engage in web apps, services, platform development, automation, and coaching.
• Develop healthcare solutions leveraging advanced technology skills.
• Plan and deliver complex, long-term projects with multiple teams and external dependencies.
• Oversee architecture across multiple projects including design and technical debt.
• Lead system architecture and document diagrams to align with requirements.
• Develop prototypes to enable new technology adoption.
• Establish coding standards and code review processes across teams.
• Translate complex designs for engineers, executives, and business stakeholders.
• Foster innovation in solution design for large-scale apps.
• Mentor and train developers to tackle challenges and grow skills.
