Job summary

CalAmp is seeking a Sr. Architect, Software Engineering with 7-10 years of experience. You will lead the design and implementation of scalable software solutions, collaborating with product managers and engineers to translate requirements into robust architectures.

Qualifications

• Expert in Java, OOP and cloud-native design principles.
• Experience with RESTful web APIs and Hibernate/Spring Core.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Proficient in Linux, design patterns and secure coding practices.
• Experience with Postgres and MongoDB databases; Git knowledge.
• Agile/Scrum environment; ability to mentor and lead reviews.

Responsibilities

• Manage best practices in design, development, QA, version control, deployments and maintenance of core software products.
• Collaborate with project managers, business owners, and product owners to translate use cases into functional apps.
• Develop requirements, design documents, architectural guidance; select technologies for scalable systems.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions; monitor and optimize system performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead code/design reviews; promote architectural principles.
• Create documentation of software architecture and standards for team reference.
• Liaise with remote and offshore teams; work in an agile environment.
