Job summary

Newrez LLC is seeking a Senior Software Architect to build cloud-native, scalable enterprise software on Azure. You will design and implement microservice architecture and guide cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

You will mentor engineers, establish architectural standards, and ensure alignment with business goals. This role requires strong leadership and deep expertise in cloud platforms and distributed systems.

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Software Architect is responsible for building cloud native and highly scalable enterprise level software products with Azure being the preferred cloud platform of use. This role will also be responsible for architecting and implementing micro-service architecture for enterprise level business applications that are aligned with overall business strategy.

DESCRIPTION:

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Evaluates internal functions, system development strategies, and suggest recommended improvements.
  • Develop system architecture models to align with the organization’s strategies and goals.
  • Organizes team trainings to improve employees’ knowledge and skills for organizational and developmental growth.
  • Develops methods for compliance architecture, such as but not limited to data storage, metadata management, and change control.
  • Identify and implements build versus buy strategies, mentor personnel, and views of the overall system strategy.
  • Guides development teams in re-architecting legacy applications (Microsoft stack) to make them scalable, and satisfactory for end users using micro-service architecture.
  • Steers the effort to promote existing custom applications to cloud platform.
  • Mentor technical teams for designing customer-facing enterprise class applications to deliver robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions.
  • Partners with project leads to conceptualize technical strategies, and design/review design the requirements for the project.
  • Implements solution design standards and develops reference implementations.
  • Provides documentation, training, and support for the designed solution.
  • Contributes to the timely, high-quality delivery of customer facing software projects.
  • Experience in robust, quick, and efficient system integrations with 3rd parties.
  • Ability to assist business partners to be self-sufficient in designing business process workflows.
  • Understandings of various cloud offerings - SaaS, Paas and Iaas.
  • Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and new cutting-edge technologies around Single Sign-On, Mobile development, DevOps, Software Architecture, Cloud Offerings etc.
  • Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Advanced Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in architecting software applications.
  • Prior leadership experience with responsibility for team capacity planning, coaching, and performance.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across the organization.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Working on-site at assigned office location.
  • Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.
  • Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.
  • Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations.
  • Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.
  • Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.
  • Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
