Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Amarillo, TX seeks a GS-12 Social Worker to support DOMSUD and SUD services. This role participates in the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) and requires a CSWE-accredited MSW and state licensure.

Qualifications

• US citizenship requirement; non-citizens may be appointed only per VA policy
• Master's in social work from CSWE-accredited program
• Licensure or certification to independently practice social work at the MSW level
• Verification of degree via CSWE accreditation site
• Senior social workers may have post-master training or certifications
• Demonstrated KSAs in specialized interventions, counseling, and policy implementation

Responsibilities

• Implement short and long-range social work treatment delivery goals
• Develop and implement policies and procedures relevant to clinical treatment
• Maintain accurate CPRS documentation and reporting standards
• Represent DOMSUD and SUD Team at center meetings and events
• Provide leadership, supervision, and continuing education for DOMSUD and SUD staff
• Deliver direct evidenced-based clinical treatment to veterans admitted to DOMSUD and SUD RRTP
• Conduct educational services, group/individual therapy, assessments, intakes, discharge and aftercare planning
• Collaborate with treatment teams and community agencies
