Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Social Worker (Program Manager) to lead the Mental Health Service (MHS) discipline across Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System.

You will advise ACOS, supervise multiple programs, and ensure high-quality social work services. Candidate must meet CSWE-accredited MSW requirements, state licensure, and demonstrate KSAs for large-scale program coordination and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required unless covered by VA policy.
• Master’s in Social Work from CSWE-accredited program; doctoral degree not a substitute.
• Licensed or certified to independently practice social work at the master’s level.
• Eligibility criteria and grandfathering options per VA standards.

Responsibilities

• Advise MHS leadership and coordinate across multiple sites.
• Provide supervision, mentoring, and consultancy to staff.
• Oversee fiscal matters, contracts, and budget for assigned programs.
• Represent MHS in facility meetings, committees, and national work groups.
• Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and guidelines.
