Job summary

The Person County Department of Social Services is seeking a compassionate, dedicated Social Worker III to join the Foster Care and Adoptions Unit. The role focuses on promoting child safety, permanency, and well-being by supporting children and families in foster care and adoption processes.

The worker will provide comprehensive case management, collaborate with families and partners, and develop individualized service plans aimed at family reunification when possible and safe, permanent homes

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work.
• Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work + completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only).
• Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work + one year directly related experience.
• Master's degree in a human services field + one year directly related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university + two years directly related experience.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university + three years directly related experience.

Responsibilities

• Foster Care Services and Permanency Planning: 50%.
• Adoption: 30%.
• Adoption Assistance: 10%.
• Other Duties as Assigned by the Supervisor: 10%.

Education

Master's degree in social work

Bachelor's degree in social work + CW Collaborative

Bachelor's degree in social work + 1 year relevant experience

Master's degree in a human services field + 1 year relevant experience

Bachelor's degree in a human services field + 2 years relevant experience

Bachelor's degree + 3 years relevant experience
