Job summary

Stanly County DSS is seeking a Social Worker III to evaluate reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of disabled adults and to oversee licensing of adult home care facilities. The role includes case management for in-home aides and placement services, as well as guardianship and payee responsibilities.

The position requires strong social work knowledge, crisis counseling, and excellent liaison skills with medical providers, law enforcement, and community agencies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or counseling with related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in social work with required experience or Child Welfare training.
• Combination of degrees and related experience as listed in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Receive and evaluate reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Monitor and license adult home care facilities.
• Provide case management for in-home aides and placement services.
• Provide guardianship and payee services for adults.
• Refer to other units and community resources as needed.
• Serve as backup for emergency intake during office hours.
• Be on-call after hours and on weekends as assigned.
• Liaise with medical providers, law enforcement, and community agencies.
