Job summary

Alamance County Government seeks a qualified social worker to deliver Adult Protective Services, evaluation and treatment for a caseload of 15-20 adults. The role involves evaluating abuse/neglect reports, coordinating with medical providers, law enforcement and community agencies, and preparing court petitions.

You will participate in court proceedings, provide supportive counseling, and work across shifts, including emergency or disaster staff coverage and rotating on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited school of social work; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of directly related experience in case management, assessment & referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy and treatment planning; or a four year‑degree in a human service field and two years of directly related experience in case management, assessment & referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psychosocial therapy and treatment planning; or graduation from a four‑year college or university and three years of directly related experience in case management, assessment & referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho‑social therapy and treatment planning; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• A copy of a certified college transcript and a letter of reference must be provided upon request.

Responsibilities

• Provide, evaluate, and manage adult protective services caseload (approximately 15-20 adults).
• Evaluate reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of disabled adults.
• Attend court proceedings and draft petitions; prepare court reports; testify in court as needed.
• Coordinate with medical providers, law enforcement and community agencies.
• Serve as back-up for emergency intake and participate in on-call rotations.
