Senior Social Strategist & Content Creator

Zero is a creative studio founded in NYC. Our goal is to create an environment where multidisciplinary teams can solve problems for progressive and contemporary brands. We aim to continually re-evaluate our work process to provide high value and service to our clients and team.

We seek an individual with a background in social media strategy and content creation, capable of working with diverse personalities internally and with clients. Process is central to our success, and we are always evolving our methods to maximize engagement. The role requires fresh, strategic thinking to address complex client challenges.

Position Overview

As a Senior Social Strategist & Content Creator, you will lead the social media creative practice at Zero. We expect an entrepreneurial, results-driven mindset to foster studio growth, with a forward-thinking approach and the ability to collaborate across disciplines and client needs. You will work closely with Creative and Account leads, as well as team members across various accounts.

Success in this role requires staying current with rapid trend cycles and cultural topics to craft resonant brand content online. A natural affinity for the internet and a passion for digital culture are essential, as you will bring this awareness to the team.

Your main responsibility will be collaborating with and leading teams to produce effective, engaging work for our clients. Daily tasks include strategic concepting, social content planning, creation, and metrics analysis. You will manage multiple projects, act as the primary contact for social media and creative production, and need strong problem-solving and communication skills. Inspiring clients with creative ideas that add measurable value is key.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  1. Lead social media strategy, content creation, and metrics analysis.
  2. Contribute to organic, paid, influencer campaigns, and broader brand initiatives.
  3. Conduct research, audits, social listening, and audience analysis.
  4. Facilitate brainstorming with the creative team for engaging content.
  5. Stay updated on industry trends and platform developments.
  6. Manage influencer partnerships, outreach, and client relations.
  7. Create creator-style content for TikTok and Instagram (graphic design not required).
  8. Oversee social content production, ensuring brand consistency.
  9. Analyze channel metrics to optimize strategies and identify growth opportunities.
Strategic Collaboration
  1. Guide multidisciplinary teams to execute creative projects.
  2. Advise clients on business challenges and opportunities.
  3. Ensure all work aligns with project goals and brand identity.
  4. Lead research, discovery, and strategic development efforts.
  5. Develop unique social strategies tailored to target audiences and brand values.
  6. Facilitate workshops and develop compelling presentations to showcase work.
  7. Lead art direction and social content strategies that meet brand and market needs.
  8. Manage project timelines and team coordination to meet deadlines.
  9. Inspire and support team members, fostering diverse perspectives and communication styles.
Account Management
  1. Proactively seek ways to improve client results and grow accounts.
  2. Manage client relationships alongside account and creative leads.
  3. Communicate effectively, including tough conversations when necessary.
  4. Autonomously oversee social accounts, maintaining strong relationships.
  5. Maintain a passion for internet culture and content relevance.
  6. Create social content that is culturally relevant and audience-specific.
  7. Plan, shoot, and edit TikTok and Reels content within platforms.
  8. Lead social strategy creation and calendar development.
  9. Manage influencer partnerships, tracking trends and engagement.
  10. Demonstrate excellent communication, attention to detail, and curiosity.
  11. Take initiative and responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
  • 5+ years in social media strategy and content creation, either in-house or at a creative agency.
  • Managed 1-3 mid to large-sized accounts for at least 1 year.
Reporting Structure

This role reports to a Creative Director, with oversight from an Account Director. You will also mentor junior staff.
