Job summary

The State of Nevada Department of Agriculture—Division of Food and Nutrition seeks a Social Services Program Specialist 3 in Sparks to manage the Food Distribution Program statewide, oversee budgeting up to $11M, supervise staff, and coordinate with federal and local partners.

This role requires strong knowledge of social services programs, regulatory interpretation, and program administration, with travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional social services experience or equivalent.
• Experience interpreting federal regulations, policies, and program documentation.
• Ability to write program policies and reports and develop plans for management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop social services programs and conduct needs assessments.
• Identify resources, prepare analyses, and propose budget impacts to management.
• Develop and revise program documentation including state plans and procedures.
• Monitor program quality and compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Provide technical guidance to staff and respond to inquiries from agencies and the public.
• Lead system enhancement projects and coordinate with internal and external partners.
