Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) in Louisiana seeks a Cyber Security SOC Manager to lead the Tier I–III analyst team, architect the detection pipeline, and drive incident response and continuous improvement on complex security events.

You will coordinate with operations leadership, own SOC performance reporting, and maintain hands-on Splunk expertise to deliver secure, compliant outcomes for the customer and program leadership.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations with supervisory or team-lead responsibilities; 8+ strongly preferred.
• Splunk: Advanced SPL, dashboard development, automated alerting, and correlation-search creation.
• Tenable and CrowdStrike native data interpretation and integration with Splunk dashboards.
• Two of the following DoD 8140/DCWF CSSP Analyst certifications within six months: CEH, CFR, CCNA Cyber Ops, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, Cloud+, SCYBER, or PenTest+.
• Security Clearance Level: must be able to obtain Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior escalation authority for complex, high-severity incidents; oversee containment and remediation, and ensure documentation and customer communication throughout the incident lifecycle.
• Provide expertise with IOCs, TTPs, threat hunting, and threat intelligence; own customer-facing escalation and remediation.
• Ensure the team recognizes intrusion attempts and triages, prioritizes, and escalates incidents per runbooks.
• Ensure detection of the full spectrum of known attacks (DDoS, malware, phishing, ransomware, and others) and correlation of events across capabilities.
• Direct standard for Splunk dashboards, reports, correlation searches, and alert actions; oversee automated detection and correlation content to reduce analyst workload.
• Lead, supervise, and develop the Tier I–III team; own SOC SLA compliance and performance reporting; deliver executive briefings to leadership and the customer.
• Drive continuous improvement across processes, runbooks, and playbooks; post-incident retrospectives and lessons learned.
• Maintain hands-on fluency in Splunk and CyberArk to guide work and validate quality.
