Job summary

MGIC is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and scale a Snowflake-centered data platform. You’ll automate source-to-warehouse ingestion with Fivetran, develop analytics-ready transformations with dbt, and orchestrate workflows with Airflow on Astronomer.

You’ll partner across teams to deliver durable data products and a long-term platform roadmap. The role focuses on data integration, modeling, governance, and observability to ensure timely, accurate data for decision-making in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or relevant experience.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience including cloud data warehousing and ETL/ELT.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience with SQL, loading, and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve data integration frameworks, engineering standards, reusable patterns and governance for a modern cloud data platform.
• Design scalable Snowflake data architectures including databases, schemas, tables, views, warehouses, and access controls.
• Build and operate batch and incremental ingestion pipelines using Fivetran connectors with monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Develop modular dbt models in Snowflake, tests, documentation, lineage, and incremental strategies.
• Author, schedule, deploy, and monitor Airflow workflows on Astronomer; manage dependencies and retries.
