Cloud Analytics Technologies, LLC is seeking a Sr Data Engineer to design and implement scalable data models and pipelines in Houston. The role emphasizes building DBT models, optimizing Snowflake performance, and establishing data quality frameworks for reliable analytics.

The candidate will collaborate with business leaders to translate requirements into technical solutions, review pull requests, and troubleshoot production issues while documenting data lineage and architectural decisions.

Qualifications

SQL: Highly skilled.
Proficient with CTEs, complex joins and analytic & window functions.
Python: Intermediate or higher.
Snowflake: real-world experience.
Data profiling to identify keys, cardinality, data types, precision and scale, and skew.
Effective communication within and across teams.
Product and QA understands the scope and goals.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable data models and pipelines that align with business objectives.
Develop complex DBT models using advanced features (macros, packages, custom materializations).
Collaborate with business leaders to translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in Snowflake queries and DBT models.
Optimize Snowflake warehouse configurations and query performance.
Design and implement data quality frameworks and testing strategies.
Create reusable DBT packages and macros for team-wide use.
Review and approve pull requests from junior team members.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
Document architectural decisions and data lineage.
