Job summary

Confidential Electronics seeks a Senior SMT Quality Control Lead to oversee quality inspection in a high-volume PCB assembly environment. This hands-on leadership role ensures product quality, supports inspection staff, and maintains compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry standards.

Ideal: 10+ years in electronics inspection, 5+ years PCB/PCBA FAIs, IPC-A-610/J-STD-001, and strong leadership to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of quality inspection experience in electronics EMS/manufacturing
• 5+ years performing PCB/PCBA First Article Inspections
• Strong experience with SMT and PCB assembly processes
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards

Responsibilities

• Lead and support QC Inspectors to maintain throughput and quality standards
• Perform and review PCB/PCBA First Article Inspections
• Verify SMT component setup, changes, and deviations
• Review customer drawings, BOMs, ECOs and manufacturing instructions
• Identify workmanship defects per IPC Class 2 & 3 standards
• Partner with Engineering/Production to resolve quality concerns
• Stop production to contain major quality issues
• Train and mentor quality personnel on inspection techniques
• Review inspection data and quality metrics for CI
• Ensure compliance with ESD/MSD/IPC/safety/quality procedures
• Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions
