Job summary

Fifth Third Bank is seeking a Small Business Credit Officer II to review and decide on high-dollar loan applications in a centralized environment. You will provide credit recommendations, perform cash flow and balance sheet analyses, and mentor junior analysts while ensuring risk and policy adherence.

The role includes structuring loans, negotiating terms, and collaborating with sales to meet customer needs. A related degree and underwriting experience are preferred for this senior position.

Qualifications

• College degree in accounting, finance or economics.
• Two+ years in underwriting, portfolio monitoring, or similar business loan analysis.
• SBA knowledge preferred.
• Basic knowledge of commercial lending and credit standards, policies, procedures, and products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with the Bank's internal applications.
• Attentive to detail and possess excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Spread financial statements based on loan package contents.
• Provide loan decisions and credit recommendations.
• Perform global cash flow and balance sheet analysis for small-business healthcare loans up to $2M.
• Prepare written evaluation of borrower's financial condition and outlook.
• Collaborate with sales to develop loan structures meeting customer needs.
• Mentor analysts in portfolio monitoring and risk management.
