Nationwide Children's Hospital Inc. is seeking a Polysomnography Technologist III for the Sleep Labs at the Main Campus in Columbus, OH.

This part-time role involves night shifts, coordinating scheduling and supervising sleep center staff, and performing polysomnography and respiratory procedures with adherence to hospital policies. Required are a 2-year AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program, Ohio respiratory licensure, NBRC credential, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved two year Respiratory Therapy Program, required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences or related field, preferred.
• Current Ohio license in to practice respiratory care, required.
• Valid NBRC credential (CRT or RRT), required; Registry Eligible for BRPT exam.
• Current CPR certification, required.
• One year of polysomnography experience, required.
• One year of critical care experience, required.
• One year of sleep experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with coordination of scheduling and with supervision/training of polysomnography technicians and other sleep center staff.
• Completes technical reports, processes patient charges, and maintains medical records.
• Performs basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting and artifact elimination.
• Monitors patients and maintains safety during procedures; communicates with patient care staff.
• Performs polysomnography procedures and respiratory testing and treatment according to policies.
• Prepares patients for testing, explains procedures, and ensures accurate electrode application.
• Collects information for interpretation of test results; maintains supplies and equipment.
• Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate levels and proper functioning; prepares patient rooms.
