Job summary

San José State University Research Foundation (SJSURF) seeks a Senior Research Associate to collaborate on sleep and circadian research with NASA Ames collaborators. The role emphasizes planning, data collection with human participants, statistical analysis, and reporting findings to the team and stakeholders.

The position requires a PhD in a related field and at least five years of research experience with human subjects, including IRB protocol handling and manuscript preparation.

Qualifications

• PhD in Public Health, Biology, Physiology, Psychology or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of research experience with human participants.
• Experience conducting literature reviews using PubMed, Science Direct or Google Scholar.
• Experience writing detailed manuscripts with proper citations.
• Experience working in interdisciplinary research teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead laboratory and field studies focused on sleep, circadian rhythms, and related performance and physiological measures.
• Develop study designs, oversee execution, and manage IRB protocol processes.
• Collect, analyze, and report data using statistical methods and software.
• Prepare manuscripts, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate administration and project management tasks as needed.
