Job summary

AIM Intelligent Machines, Inc. seeks a Senior SLAM Engineer to design and deploy robust state estimation, mapping, and calibration for autonomous machines on dynamic job sites. You will advance multi-sensor fusion, calibration pipelines, and production localization on edge hardware, collaborating across perception, planning, and controls teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in SLAM or localization, deep math knowledge, and strong C++/Python skills, with experience in LiDAR and GNSS integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Robotics/EE/Aerospace.
• 5+ years building SLAM, state estimation, or localization.
• Strong math in 3D geometry, linear algebra, probabilistic robotics.
• Deep expertise in Kalman and particle filters and optimization.
• Hands-on with automated sensor calibration for LiDAR, GNSS, IMU.
• Proficient in C++ and Python for tooling/analysis.
• Experience with LiDAR odometry, ICP/NDT, and large 3D point clouds.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy state estimation, mapping, and calibration systems for AIM’s autonomous machines.
• Architect multi-sensor fusion algorithms for high-frequency, low-latency localization.
• Advance mapping stack: point cloud registration, loop closure, dynamic map updates.
• Build production localization systems for edge hardware and fleets.
• Collaborate with perception, planning, and controls teams for stable estimates.
