Job summary

Fisher Industries, a vertically integrated construction and aggregates company, seeks a Site Safety Specialist for the VAI Resort project in Glendale, AZ. This role reports to the Site Safety Manager and coordinates with safety staff to uphold rigorous safety, regulatory compliance, and incident prevention on a large-scale high-rise development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience.
• Extensive high-rise or vertical construction experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards.
• Experience conducting site audits, inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
• Experience with multiple subcontractors on large commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible daily presence across active construction areas.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with safety requirements and OSHA regulations.
• Support pre-task planning, JHAs/JSAs, and high-risk activity reviews.
• Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Verify fall protection compliance during high-rise construction.
• Support crane operations, steel erection, elevated work, and other high-risk tasks.
• Deliver safety orientations, training, toolbox talks, and field coaching.
• Track safety metrics, trends, and corrective actions.
