Job summary

Taboola is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for its R&D Infrastructure team in Tel Aviv. You will build, scale, and maintain high-scale infrastructure across on-premise cloud, public cloud and AI/ML Kubernetes environments.

Expect to optimize Linux performance, reduce operational toil, and lead automation using Go, Python or Rust. Responsibilities include keeping the hybrid setup highly available, designing monitoring stacks, and participating in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years managing and scaling large-scale Linux environments in production.
• Solid understanding of Linux internals and network protocols.
• Hands-on experience with IaC and orchestration tools.
• Production experience with containerized environments using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Proficient in Go, Python or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Keep hybrid infrastructure highly available, performant and cost-efficient.
• Build internal tooling and manage IaC pipelines to reduce repetitive tasks.
• Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across the stack from CDN to kernel tuning.
• Design and maintain monitoring and alerting to proactively address issues.
• Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident resolutions with blameless post-mortems.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer on the R&D Infrastructure team in our Tel Aviv Office, you’ll play a vital role in building, scaling and maintaining high-scale infrastructure across on-premise cloud, public cloud and rapidly growing AI/ML Kubernetes environments. You will push Linux to its limits, writing software and automation to eliminate manual tasks and solving performance bottlenecks across the stack.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

• 7+ years of experience managing, scaling and troubleshooting large-scale distributed Linux environments in production.
• Deep understanding of Linux system internals and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, gRPC), together with hands‑on experience of edge/CDN services such as Fastly, Cloudflare, Akamai or CloudFront.
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, ArgoCD or Jenkins.
• Production experience managing containerized environments using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Solid programming skills in at least one modern language (Go, Python or Rust).

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience designing and operating telemetry, metrics collection, and alerting stacks at scale (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/logging).
• Practical background in optimizing infrastructure costs and resource efficiency across cloud and on-prem.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Keep our hybrid infrastructure (on-prem, public cloud and AI/ML clusters) highly available, performant and cost-efficient.
• Build internal software tooling and manage IaC pipelines in Go, Python or Rust to eliminate repetitive operations.
• Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across the full stack—from CDN edge configurations down to Linux kernel tuning and network layer bottlenecks.
• Design and maintain monitoring and alerting setups to spot and address system health issues before they impact users.
• Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident resolution and conduct blameless post-mortems to ensure system resilience.
