Job summary

LeoLabs in Menlo Park, CA seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to bridge development and operations, ensuring scalable, reliable systems. You will automate, monitor, and resolve incidents to improve service reliability, working closely with engineering teams to enhance product reliability and deployment.

The role requires 5+ years in SRE/DevOps, Python or Go, cloud (AWS/Azure), containers (Docker/Kubernetes/ECS), and IaC (Terraform/Atlantis/Terragrunt).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years in SRE/DevOps or related role.
• Python or Go scripting/programming.
• Cloud services (AWS, Azure).
• Containerization with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
• IaC with Terraform, Atlantis, Terragrunt.
• CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild, CircleCI.
• Monitoring with Grafana, Datadog.
• Databases: RDS, Aurora, PostgreSQL.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good communicator.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Active TS/SCI clearance (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable systems.
• Set up monitoring tools and incident response plans to quickly identify and resolve issues, plus preventative measures.
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools for deployment, monitoring, and health checks.
• Analyze capacity and performance metrics to forecast needs and scale accordingly.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve reliability and deployment processes.
• Create and maintain documentation for architecture, processes, and incidents.
• Participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 support of critical systems.
• Enforce security best practices across systems, ensuring compliance with standards.
