Job summary

C1.ai is hiring in Portland to build and operate a horizontal identity platform. You’ll own reliable, scalable infrastructure across cloud and FedRAMP environments, with a focus on observability and automation.

The role demands experience in cloud infra, Kubernetes, and programming in Go or Python, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills. In-office in Portland with meaningful equity and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience operating production systems at scale for real customers.
• Proficient with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP or similar) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Pulumi).
• Strong programming in Go or Python to build tools and automation.
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in production.
• Strong systems thinking and ability to anticipate failures and prevent toil.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability and scalability of the platform—design, build, and operate the infrastructure used by customers.
• Build observability: monitoring, alerting, and tooling to understand system behavior and incidents.
• Drive operational excellence with product teams to bake reliability into features from day one.
• Automate tasks and infrastructure-as-code to reduce manual toil.
• Lead incident response, conduct blameless postmortems, and drive systemic improvements.
• Plan and execute infrastructure projects with incremental deliverables and risk communication.
