Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help scale and operate our production services across multiple data centers and AWS. You will improve reliability, capacity, and performance while owning provisioning and maintenance of complex infrastructures.

The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, IaC experience, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. A deep understanding of cloud providers and virtualization is essential, with on-call rotations expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in troubleshooting and tuning in systems, networking, and cloud services.
• Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) experience.
• Automation of management tasks using Node.js, Python, or scripting languages.
• Experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and LDAP.
• Experience managing large distributed computing environments and cloud infra.
• Experience with virtualization (KVM, VMware vSphere, OpenStack).
• Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure).
• U.S. citizenship required.

You will contribute to the architecture to improve scalability, operability, service reliability, capacity, and performance. You will be responsible for provisioning, maintaining, and scaling our production services within server farms across multiple, world-wide data centers as well as AWS.
