Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Site Civil BIM Designer in Mobile, AL to support Civil 3D modeling and 3D coordination across Federal, power, water/wastewater, and industrial projects.

You will work with Project Managers and engineers to produce site layouts, grading, drainage, and utility models, while ensuring CAD standards and high-quality construction drawings are delivered on schedule.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent experience in related industry.
• 5+ years related industry experience required.
• Advanced skillset in 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
• Advanced 3D coordination tool skills are required.
• Strong Microsoft Office proficiency and communication tools.
• Solid understanding of engineering/architectural concepts and standards.
• Knowledge of discipline codes and specifications; attention to detail is essential.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and a multi-discipline team daily.
• Model and draft site civil construction documents in Civil 3D for Federal/Power/Water/Industrial clients.
• Develop site civil designs: earthwork, drainage, utilities, grading, roads.
• Model gravity and pressure pipe networks and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Produce construction drawings ensuring HDR CAD standards are met.
• Create detailed drawings and diagrams within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Support 3D coordination reviews and design reviews with the team.
• Promote HDR employee-owned culture and participate actively.

HDR is looking for a Senior Site Civil BIM Designer to join our Building Engineering Services team in Mobile. In the role of Senior Site Civil BIM Designer, we'll count on you to:

• Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and a multi-discipline design team on a daily basis.
• Support the design and production of site civil construction documents related to Federal, Power, Architectural, Water/Wastewater, and Industrial Clients.
• Model and draft site civil design improvements in Civil 3D including, but not limited to, site survey, site layout, grading, drainage, storm water management systems, roadway, erosion and sediment control, landscaping, and site utilities.
• Model both gravity and pressure pipe networks.
• Support the development of construction drawings in Civil 3D to ensure that the files and plans adhere to HDR and/or client CAD standards.
• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, & diagrams of the design within the project scope, schedule, and budget, using the current 3D software
• Demonstrate an understanding of site civil design concepts including earthwork, surfaces, site grading, pipe networks, etc.
• Coordinate the design with other discipline models through Design Reviews and the 3D Coordination process.
• Maintain an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of site civil design concepts, industry standards and practices
• Navisworks, MicroStation and OpenRoads experience is welcome, preference will be given to local candidates

• Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure
• Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tool
• Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
• Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
• Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential
