Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II – Simulation Engineering to lead the design of large-scale distributed simulation environments at our Littleton, CO site. You will craft campaigns for constellation-level modeling and derive insights from massive data produced by high-fidelity simulations.

The role requires 8+ years in simulation engineering, proficiency in Python or C++, and experience with Monte Carlo campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required.
• 8+ years of industry experience in large-scale simulation engineering or distributed modeling.
• Proficiency in Python or C++ and experience with Monte Carlo campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy large-scale, distributed simulation environments for complex aerospace systems, including multi-vehicle and constellation-level modeling.
• Develop robust data pipelines to process, analyze, and visualize massive datasets from high-fidelity simulations.
• Derive actionable engineering and mission-level insights through advanced statistical analysis and data modeling of simulation outputs.
• Optimize simulation infrastructure for high-performance computing (HPC) and distributed clusters to ensure scalability.
• Collaborate with domain experts to define campaign-level requirements and translate mission objectives into scalable simulation architectures.
• Lead the integration of complex simulation ecosystems, ensuring synchronization across subsystems and analytical tools.
