Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II – Simulation Engineering to architect and operate large-scale, distributed simulation environments. You will build robust data pipelines and derive mission insights from massive datasets, supporting constellation-level models and HPC-enabled workflows.

You will collaborate across teams to define requirements, optimize performance, and advance the state of simulated aerospace systems, including multi-vehicle architectures and high-fidelity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Math/Physics or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in large-scale simulation engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar for data analysis.
• Experience architecting and analyzing large-scale Monte Carlo campaigns.
• Experience processing and analyzing large datasets with modern data analytics libraries.
• Experience modeling complex multi-component physical systems (spacecraft constellations, multi-vehicle architectures, or robotics).
• U.S citizenship required, due to program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy large-scale, distributed simulation environments for complex aerospace systems.
• Develop robust data pipelines to process, analyze, and visualize massive datasets from simulations.
• Derive actionable insights through advanced statistical analysis and data modeling of outputs.
• Optimize simulation infrastructure for HPC and distributed clusters to ensure scalability.
• Collaborate with domain experts to define campaign requirements and translate objectives into scalable architectures.
• Lead the integration of complex simulation ecosystems ensuring synchronization across subsystems.
