Job summary

DeepMind in New York, NY, USA, is seeking a Staff Silicon Architect to lead the hardware design of novel systolic array accelerators and subsystems from requirements to tapeout. You will work with teams across Google’s AI and infrastructure stack to deliver high-performance, production-quality hardware and software.

The role requires deep expertise in architecture, logic design, verification, and physical design, plus collaboration with performance-tuning and algorithm teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience leading multiple design domains (Design For Test, Design Verification and Physical Design).
• 5 years of experience with logic design, computer architecture, and circuit theory.
• 5 years of experience in power or performance modeling or system performance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement hardware for novel systolic array accelerators.
• Own subsystems up to the entire accelerator, carry implementation from requirements through design sketches, implementation, timing closure, to tapeout and bringup.
• Collaborate with application, algorithm, and performance-tuning experts to codesign solutions for best efficiency, performance, and programmability.
• Write code for accelerators to meet production requirements at system, library, and application levels.
• Bring a generalist approach to computer systems beyond specific hardware-related skills, interfacing with colleagues across disciplines.
