Job summary

Leidos LLC seeks a seasoned software engineer with RF and signal processing expertise to design and implement advanced software on Linux. You will develop in C++ and Java, integrate components, and lead testing and documentation efforts in a secure environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in CS or related field with substantial RF-related experience and a polygraph‑cleared TS/SCI background. Expect collaboration across systems and cloud deployments in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline required with 15 years of experience.
• Seven (7) years’ experience as a SSWE or equivalent on a project with RF focus, including Fourier transforms, filtering, communications theory, and DSP.
• Seven (7) years of additional SSWE or equivalent experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.
• Design, develop, and enhance software to add new features or improve existing functionality.
• Debug and resolve defects in software systems.
• Utilize signal processing techniques and digital modulation methods effectively.
• Develop software using C++ and Java within Linux operating systems.
• Integrate software into new or modified systems, ensuring seamless operation.
• Lead or participate in the development and execution of test procedures for software components.
• Write and review software and system documentation, providing recommendations to improve processes and standards.
• Apply scientific analysis and mathematical models to design software solutions and predict outcomes.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with 15 years of experience.
• Seven (7) years’ experience as a SSWE or equivalent on a project with a focus on Radio Frequency (RF) to include experience with Fourier transforms, filtering, communications theory, digital modulation, error control coding, signals analysis tools (e.g. WVT, DVT), and digital signal processing (e.g. adaptive beamforming/ filtering, demodulation).
• Seven (7) years of additional SSWE or equivalent experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with software-defined radio architectures (e.g., SCA, REDHAWK, GNU) and commercial wireless standards.
• Proficiency in software configuration management tools (e.g., GIT, Trac, Subversion).
• Familiarity with Python, Eclipse IDE, Google Protocol Buffer, and model-based design tools like MATLAB or SIMULINK.
• Knowledge of service-oriented architecture, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud deployment (e.g., AWS).
• Expertise in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, including libraries like React, Vue, or Angular.
• Experience working with REST APIs, WebSockets, and JavaScript 3D libraries (e.g.,Three.is a plus).
• Background in Agile development teams and geolocation techniques.

Pay Range

Pay Range: Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
