Koch Finishing Systems in Caledonia, MI is seeking an Operations Manager to lead our fabrication shop, owning project scheduling, budgeting, and day-to-day execution from kickoff to delivery.

This hands-on leadership role requires guiding a cross-functional team, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time performance across multiple concurrent projects, while partnering with engineering and procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 8–10 years of progressive fabrication/manufacturing operations experience.
• Experience leading supervisors and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong budgeting and scheduling skills.

Responsibilities

• Own project scheduling and execution across fabrication projects.
• Lead, coach, and manage performance of the manufacturing team.
• Oversee review of engineering drawings and ordering of materials.
• Develop and manage the shop's labor and material budgets.
• Champion a strong safety culture and OSHA compliance.
• Partner with Engineering to resolve fabrication issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in shop processes and layout.
• Inform General Manager on schedules, risks, and issues.
• Manage Manufacturing capacity and planning activities.
• Lead weekly shipping schedule meetings and communicate delays.
• Maintain welding compliance with AWS codes.
• Champion ERP system accuracy in transactions.
• Manage inventory levels and cycle counts with Lean initiatives.
