Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Knoxville, TN seeks a Sr. Shipping & Inventory Operator to support maintenance, safety, and daily production coordination in our North American Steel Group facilities.

You will work with a team to operate equipment, manage inventories, and troubleshoot issues while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role offers training, advancement, and competitive compensation in a dynamic steel production environment.

Qualifications

• Team player in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures, dust, noise, and confined spaces.
• Basic computer skills and dependability in attendance.
• Willingness to work overtime and rotating shifts.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance personnel when requested.
• Participate in safety programs and uphold safety culture.
• Communicate production issues and needs effectively.
• Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled each shift.
• Perform routine maintenance or repairs as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of methods and procedures.
• Maintain daily housekeeping in the work area.
• Provide relief to overhead crane operators.
• Troubleshoot problems using knowledge and teamwork.
• Understand start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
