Job summary

Disney Cruise Line in the United States is hiring a Senior Physician to operate onboard health centers, delivering medical care to crew and guests and leading the health team. You will report to the Chief Physician (Shore side) and Shipboard Staff Captain, and ensure quality care, safety, and compliance with maritime health standards.

The role requires active STCW-licensed physicians with extensive emergency/trauma experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to living at sea aboard a Disney

Qualifications

• Active medical license from STCW country.
• Medical degree from recognized college or university
• Ability to provide a letter of good standing from STCW country prior to joining the vessel
• 3 years recent professional medical experience in general/emergency/trauma/critical care
• Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
• ATLS certificates and valid BLS/PALS/ALS/ACLS/ATLS certificates prior to joining a vessel
• Computer literacy and experience with MS Office programs
• Experience with electronic health records

Responsibilities

• Provide medical services (evaluation and treatment) for inpatient, outpatient, and ICU care onboard
• Lead all aspects of the onboard health center to ensure efficient operations
• Monitor shore referrals and medical debarks of crew members in conjunction with shoreside Medical Services
• Monitor crew deemed unfit for duty and communicate with Medical Services shore personnel
• Make medical decisions for medical disembarks and maintain reports (AGE, Unfit for Duty, Health Declarations)
• Ensure awareness of ACEP Guidelines and Vessel Sanitation Program requirements
• Provide professional mentorship to medical staff
• Supervise medical team duties such as lifeboat drills and shipboard safety responsibilities
• Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials and regular SDS inventory
• Assist with crew immunization programs and controlled substance management
• Support implementation of health programs onboard
