Job summary

The Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA) is seeking a Behavior & Enrichment Lead to guide animal behavior initiatives, enhance welfare, and improve placement outcomes for shelter animals.

You will supervise staff and volunteers, provide behavior consultations, develop enrichment plans, and ensure practices are force‑free and evidence‑based in daily shelter operations, training, and community outreach. 3–5 years of experience and PetPoint proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional animal welfare shelter experience.
• Strong knowledge of canine and feline behavior and enrichment.
• Experience with force-free, evidence-based behavior methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and documentation.
• Ability to train staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement behavior and enrichment initiatives.
• Supervise staff and volunteers and conduct intake assessments.
• Provide behavior support, training resources, and consultations.
• Maintain accurate records in PetPoint.
• Develop and facilitate advanced volunteer training.
